SisterDawn, I believe I'm already following you if i'm not mistaken. As a matter of fact, I am. I went back and checked my list on Twitter, and you are on it. That's so cool!
When following me, you will see a lot of updates; however, it is not random stuff. i advocate and educate for many causes, and sometimes, I like to write interesting things, so you'll get to see a lot of my articles and other written works when they are up there. Don't get worried. I don't spam with crap. It's all good stuff. Either you will know what is going on in my life or will learn about the latest information out there. And, best of all, I interract with everyone I follow, as my followers mean a lot to me.
I absolutely hate it when people want to follow me just to sell me something or to throw all these business opportunities at me. I hate that, and they do not even talk to you. I already had one do that, and it really made me angry. I'm a business person, yes, but I don't need to give a sales pitch or spam the hell out of people every freaking waking moment. That is such a turn off, and I'm sure all of you will agree. I love the personal interraction and getting to know people, as well as staying in touch.

I have been having the same problem. I thought I was going nuts. i can see the updates of my protected friends on my page, and they have accepted me, but when I try to reply, I have to request again and again. I wonder if something is messed up with Twitter? Glad to know i'm not alone.

go to, www.twitter.com. theirs a link that says sign up, or create your acount. fill that out and you have it. you don't need anything special for it, just the page in your favourites or wherever you like to put pages you visit.

the spammers shouldn't be getting through if your tweets are protected. i kno they try, but you have to authorize them in the end, and if twitter is working properly, they won't show up on your follower count, specially if you block them.

pqn or private message them and ask for their email addresses, or if they see this, do the same, unless you want every weirdo to have your email addi. twitter has problems finding my twitter name, so i just give the people i want to follow me my addi, and they find me that way. it's probablly cause it's got multiples of first names or something like that.

Now my guide dog is on Twitter. She's cinnabar924 if anyone wants to follow her. I don't know how she's pulling this off. She is rather clever but I was stunned when I found out she managed to sign up for Twitter. What a smart dog.

Aw'w'w, you have to have Twitter! Live Journal requires an awful lot of software or a webpage to get connected. Twitter, well, just download either Jawter or Qwitter to get started! No software in the middle required, what so ever! For example, I only just downloaded Qwitter this afternoon and I think I'll be on here all blimming night with my best friend, it's so fantastically addictive, roflmao. You can download Qwitter from http://www.qwitter-client.net or Jawter from www.http://randylaptop.com/software/jawter-2
My advice would be to go with Qwitter, as I tried Jawter myself and found it bloody awkward to use and a pain in the neck since you have to tell it you want to use it for Twitter, turn it on so you can use it with Twitter Etc, by modifying the JAWS scripts, whereas with Qwitter, you're all set, soon as you've downloaded it and configured it. With Qwitter for example, you could be sat on this board topic and you just have to hit Ctrl Windows N to send a new tweet, Ctrl Windows D to direct message your mates on Twitter, CTRL right, left, up and down arrows if you want to read tweets updates and direct messages, Etc Etc. Well anyway, it's all in the somewhat complicated user manual. In fact, I might post an idiot's guide to Qwitter on this topic at some point, lol, written by my best friend who I've been nattering to via Qwitter all blimming evening since around 11:00 Eastern time, 4:00 pm here, when I first set it up, because even I couldn't figure it out earlier today when I was just starting out with it. Qwitter also behaves like your mobile or Messenger on your PC or laptop, because it also comes with several downloadable sound packs so you'll surely know about it the instant something happens on Twitter, wherever you are, anywhere on your computer... There's no escape, unless you mute the sounds, whether someone updates their own Twitter or direct messages (DM's) you. Qwitter rocks. My own Twitter/Qwitter name then, is boz_magic, should anybody wish to follow me, bearing in mind, my tweets are also locked as of this afternoon.

Oops! Made a mistake, quite a big one concerning Qwitter keystrokes in the last post. To read tweets then, it's CTRL Windows up, down arrows to read the actual tweets, DMs and updates, CTRL Windows left and right arrows to navigate between buffers! Ctrl Windows toggle's basically your key to navigating Qwitter. Every single command incorporates that toggle combination. Right. Might as well post that idiot's guide here.
okay so here i am, going to explain how to use qwitter.
what is it?
simple, an application that enables you to use twitter from anywhere on your computer, browsing a website and want to know what that famous person you follow is up too? a simple press of a key stroke can tell you in a matter of seconds.
How do i use it?
Download the qwitter client from
www.qwitter-client.net
Once installed, you'll need to fill in the configuration fields and these are pretty self-explanatory, username, password, how many tweets you want it to download and choosing a sound pack.
How do i read tweets?
Well, there are sets of buffers, tweets, direct messages, replies and sent.
you can browse these by pressing control and either left or right arrow.
Once you've picked one you're interested in, press control windows home which takes you right to the top of the list.
to go down, press control windows down arrow, it gives you the most recent tweet first and goes down in sets of minutes.
If you're confused by this, just ask.
what key strokes do i need to know?
To send a tweet, hit control windows n, once you've finished typing, press enter.
want to reply to someone's tweet? move to the one you're interested in and press control windows r, type and press enter to send.
want to send someone a direct message? control windows d type and press enter to send.
So there's a brief description of how to use qwitter, hopefully less confusing than the read me file.

A Twitter account for your dog? All-righty then.
I know. I told her it was a silly idea but she was determined to do it. She can be very stubborn. The crazy part is that she's already met another guide dog on Twitter and they have been getting to know each other. I figure it's no worse than a lot of other stupid crap on Twitter so if it makes her happy then I'm fine with it.
If you lock your updates, you can avoid spam because you have to accept or deny folower requests.
Sadly, I know a few dogs with twitter.

I've never understood this Twitter business and quite frankly I've always found it to be quite riddiculous. I use my Myspace page for any updates and things, so even when I did have Facebook, Twitter and Live Journal I almost never logged on. I don't even know why I even bothered to recreate my Facebook page but I deleted it again real quick. And since I use Window-Eyes I couldn't use those Twitter scripts even if I wanted to. Not that there seem to be many problems with Twitter and Window-Eyes working together.

who uses a twitter client and what do you use?
most people use quitter, but i use McTwit. my computer won't support it, and i'm not changing the frame work just for quitter. besides, McTwit works just fine, and it's easily accessable. if i'm not using McTwit, i use Klango's twitter client or the sight itself.

A lot of us get Twitter to watch stuff; it's not only for silly stuff about who washed their hair ... you can see news stories and all; I like Qwitter too since it runs in the system tray ... still have to get it hooked to Facebook.
